Gigio Donnarumma will be Italy’s captain at Euro 2024, Luciano Spalletti confirmed.

Former Milan star Donnarumma will be Italy’s captain at the upcoming Euros.

The Azzurri CT Spalletti confirmed during his first press conference before the tournament that the goalkeeper would captain the Azzurri in Germany.

Who is Italy’s captain at Euro 2024?

Donnarumma played a key role in Italy’s Euro 2020 victory three years ago and was named the best player in the competition, becoming the first goalkeeper ever to win such an award.

The 25-year-old completed a free transfer to PSG only a few days later.

Donnarumma has made 61 appearances for the Azzurri, including seven under Spalletti. The talented goalkeeper has been Italy’s captain six times under the new CT.

Who will Italy meet in the Euro 2024 group stage?

Italy have been drawn in Group B at Euro 2024 with Albania, Spain and Croatia.

The Azzurri will make their debut on June 15 against Albania. The second match against Spain will be played on June 20 while the third and final group stage match is against Croatia on June 24.
