When David Raya posed in an Arsenal jersey for the first time this week, many fans noticed an interesting tattoo.

Raya joined Arsenal from Brentford on Tuesday on an initial season-long loan deal.

Arsenal paid Brentford a £3 million loan fee and have the option to sign him permanently for £27m at the end of the season.

Raya will wear the no.22 jersey for the Gunners but it was another number that caught the attention of fans.

One photo of Raya posing in his new kit showed that the Spanish goalkeeper has "13-08-21" inked on the back of his neck.

That is because Raya made is Premier League debut for Brentford on August 13 in 2021.

It is a game that Arsenal supporters will likely be keen to forget.

Brentford beat Arsenal 2-0 in Raya's first EPL match.

Raya went on to complete 62 Premier League matches for Brentford, keeping 20 clean sheets.

Speaking in his first official interview with Arsenal.com this week, Raya said: "I'm over the moon to be able to take this challenge in my career and make the step up.

"I'm really excited to get going and see how the season ends up. I spoke to the boss and he sent me the values of what Arsenal are about. The way that the club is going, it's growing even more so it is a beautiful challenge to take and I couldn't say no."
