On Tuesday, news dropped that Paris Saint-Germain could prioritize a move for FC Barcelona sensation Lamine Yamal. The capital club received a front-row view of the teenager’s game during their UEFA Champions League quarterfinal tie, which saw the Parisians advance.

According to the report from Le Parisien, negotiations could start between the clubs if the player expresses the desire to leave Barcelona, as manager Luis Enrique is a big fan.

With speculation ongoing, Mundo Deportivo’s Gabriel Sans notes a couple of reasons why PSG are keen on Yamal to be the next superstar in the French capital.

Sans writes that Yamal’s recent performances against Napoli, particularly in the first leg of the quarterfinals in Paris and the match against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu, have fully convinced the Ligue 1 side to pursue the player.

Furthermore, the journalist states that PSG could drop €200 million to Barcelona without issues. The Ligue 1 side have balanced their books thanks to the departures last summer of Neymar, Lionel Messi, Marco Verratti, and Sergio Ramos.

The departure of Kylian Mbappé, Europe’s highest earner with a yearly salary of €72 million, will also be coming off the books. Finally, there’s also the agent connection between Jorge Mendes and PSG.

Mendes has several players with the Parisians, ranging from Warren Zaire-Emery to Vitinha, including Bradley Barcola, Marco Asensio, Manuel Ugarte, and Gonçalo Ramos. He also has an excellent professional relationship with sporting advisor Luis Campos.

As a result, if Yamal decides to move away from Barcelona, Mendes is likely to contact PSG. It’s all speculation right now, but the rumors could heat up as the summer months approach.
