There was tension in the opening stages of JuventusGenoa as the Bianconeri captain Danilo came face-to-face with Italy striker Mateo Retegui, who had tried to stop Wojciech Szczesny from resuming play quickly.

The incident happened at minute eight of Sunday’s Serie A match between Juventus and Genoa at the Allianz Stadium.

Szczesny claimed the ball from a corner kick and was about to resume play with a long pass, but Genoa and Italy striker Retegui stood in front of him and ran in a zig-zag, preventing the Juventus keeper from even kicking the ball.

Juventus fans in the stands protested loudly and Danilo vehemently complained and came face-to-face with the Azzurri striker.

Juventus and Genoa players arrived to divide the contenders and referee Antonio Giua spoke to both players without using any card.
