Kylian Mbappé will leave Paris Saint-Germain after this 2023-24 season, and the forward is expected to join Real Madrid as a free agent. Some might argue that the Spanish giants need the Frenchman since he’s not too keen on the No. 9 position.

No matter where he plays on the pitch for the La Liga team, RMC Sport pundit Jérôme Rothen asserts that Los Blancos require a player like the PSG star despite possessing talented wingers such as Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo.

“If Real Madrid needs him? Of course, who doesn’t need Kylian Mbappé!? Real Madrid have fantastic results, but there are gaps in this team,” Rothen said on RMC Sport (h/t Le10Sport). “For me, Real Madrid must evolve differently. And with Kylian, they will evolve differently. There will be even more dynamite on the pitch.”

Furthermore, Rothen doesn’t believe that Mbappé will disrupt any cohesion within the Real Madrid locker room. He’s already familiar with Eduardo Camavinga and Aurélien Tchouaméni, so the French connection could help him ease into the group.

“If anyone wonders if Mbappé will disrupt this collective… Ancelotti will find the solution to try to play the best players like Bellingham, Rodrygo, or Vinicius Jr.,” Rothen added.

Mbappé does have an opportunity to face Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League final for what could be his last match with PSG. The media frenzy would be going wild if both teams were to meet in London at Wembley Stadium.
