Could Girona star Savio earn himself an opportunity to shine at Manchester City next season? The young Brazilian winger has starred for the La Liga surprise packets so far this season. He has scored 10 goals and added 7 assists in an impressive season for Girona.

That stunning form has seemingly earned him his dream move to Manchester City this summer. Fabrizio Romano has previously reported that the champions have completed a deal with his Troyes for the Brazilian. Now, a new report indicates that the Girona star will be given an opportunity to impress Pep Guardiola during City’s preseason before the beginning of next season.

Jack Gaughan has reported for the Daily Mail that Savio is expected to go City’s preseason tour of the United States in July. Furthermore, Gaughan reports that City director Txiki Begiristain regularly checks in on the progress of Girona. These checks offer City further insight into Savio’s progress, Gaughan further reports.

If the Girona star can impress on Manchester City’s preseason tour of the United States, there does appear to be a role for him in Pep Guardiola’s squad. As it stands currently, Jeremy Doku and Jack Grealish are the only out and out wingers in the City squad. The Brazilian international would immediately add another quality option that could play on either wing with the world champions.

This season has seen Savio predominantly play on the left wing for Girona. But he is more than capable of playing on the right wing, such is his versatility. With his dribbling and crossing ability, he could potentially be anothwr weapon in City’s arsenal. At times this season, the champions have appeared to lack creativity, which is something Savio will potentially bring to the Etihad.
