Wolves captain Max Kilman insists their 3-0 defeat at Newcastle wasn't deserved.

However, Kilman concedes they didn't perform as expected on Saturday.

He told the club's website: It's a tough result to take. We started the game really badly and when you come to St James' Park and find yourself two goals down, it's really hard to get yourself back into it.

But I felt in the second half we stopped them getting on the ball and we played better. We did have some chances and we started to dominate possession, however, we didn't take our chances, so it was a difficult day.

If we would have scored one of our early chances, that definitely would have given us a chance. In the second half, we had some good spells of possession and created some good chances, but we needed a bit more quality. If we do get a goal back and have a bit more quality in front of goal, then it would have been a much tighter game and anything could have happened.

The result wasn't the fairest reflection on the game, but it just wasn't our day. We need to just focus on the next one, go back into training and look to bounce back next weekend."
