World Cup 2022 Group G betting guide

Brazil is the elephant in the room in the group. Maybe that is the wrong analogy, but they are considered the top squad in the world and the favorite to win it all. They have done it before too so there is hardly a notion that they can't win another one.

The second place in the group definitely looks up for grabs between a couple of European squads. The Swiss and Serbs are quality enough to give most teams a good challenge but probably not the likes of Brazil.

Cameroon is an easy team to root for but they are overmatched outside of African competitions.

Group G

  • Brazil
  • Cameroon
  • Serbia
  • Switzerland

The Favorite

Brazil: -275 to win the group, -1200 to qualify.

There are no secrets about Brazil. They almost never concede a goal and they are blessed with a lot of scoring talent. They are an easy bet to take the group.

At those prices, there is not a lot to bet on, even if it feels like a sure thing for the early stages.

The Contenders

Serbia: +600 to win the group, +110 to qualify.
Switzerland: +450 to win the group, -110 to qualify.

It seems pretty inevitable that one of these two teams is going to finish second in the group, though both have a great chance to qualify overall, especially if they beat up on Cameroon.

Switzerland is ranked 15th in the FIFA rankings and is notorious for playing a defensive style. Sometimes they look happy to make a game 0-0 and see what happens in extra time. They have shown an ability to play up to the competition.

Serbia will take some chances for better or worse. Both are solid bets depending on who you think will beat the other.

The Pretender

Cameroon : +2000 to win the group, +400 to qualify.

Let's put it simply, there are some touts out there who think Cameroon to net zero points in the group stage is worthy of a best bet. It is hard to disagree with that notion, even if the payoffs are enticing.
