World Cup 2022 Group H betting guide

Portugal is definitely the headliner in this group, what with Cristiano Ronaldo still one of the most recognizable players in the world. Though sometimes for the wrong reasons.

Uruguay is a little lesser known internationally because they are always overshadowed by the likes of Brazil and Argentina. They are really good though.

Korea and Ghana are not likely to make much noise at this event. The winner of their matchup gets some glory coming back home.

Group H

  • Ghana
  • South Korea
  • Portugal
  • Uruguay

The Favorites

Portugal: -143 to win the group, -500 to qualify.
Uruguay: +187 to win the group, -120 to qualify.

Portugal is No. 9 in the FIFA rankings but Uruguay is not far behind them at No. 14. That makes the South American squad a nice value in this grouping. However, there might be more value in just backing them to win the game when they square off.

I also like Uruguay to qualify as sneaky good value. Even if they can't beat Portugal, they are well ahead of the other clubs in quality.

The Contender

South Korea: +1000 to win the group, +225 to qualify.

They are going to play with spirit but this team is just overmatched in terms of talent. Unless someone has a really bad game from the top two clubs, beating Korea will be an easy match for both.

The contender consideration might have been a stretch here.

The Pretender

Ghana: +1400 to win the group, +300 to qualify

Another African nation that is going to make a quick exit in this major event. Don't get lured in by those payoffs. That is what the sportsbooks want you to do.
