Tim Sherwood has given a damning verdict on Manchester United defensive midfielder Sofyan Amrabat after watching his performance in the shocking 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth on Saturday.

The former Tottenham Hotspur manager turned pundit was not impressed with Amrabat’s display in the middle of the pitch.

United suffered one of their worst defeats of the season and there’s likely going to be more crisis talk of a result. And, to make matters worse, we face Bayern Munich and Liverpool next week.

Erik ten Hag’s side conceded the first goal after just give minutes and then shipped in two more in the second half. At that point, there was no point of return for the Reds.

Amrabat, 27, started in midfield alongside Scott McTominay.

Speaking about the Moroccan in the first half, Sherwood told Sky Sports (as per TBR Football): “I want Ten Hag or someone to tell me why Kobbie Mainoo is not playing and Amrabat is because Amrabat is by far their worst player today.

“He is having loads of the football, and he makes poor decisions on it. His distribution is not as good as Kobbie.”

It is one thing criticising Amrabat’s performance, but Sherwood is completely forgetting that Mainoo is a young player and Ten Hag is bound to try manage his minutes in the side.

After all, this is Mainoo’s first season in the first team.
