Everton veteran Ashley Young insists their performances this season has been better than results suggest.

Young insists there's no reason to panic at this stage of the campaign.

He said: "You look at the chances we have been creating in the games, and on different days it would be a different story.

"When you are creating those chances, it is down to everyone in the team, not just the forwards, to get the goals.

"I have got every confidence in the team and the squad that we can go and score goals. It is coming."

He continued: "We are a few games in, if we were down the back end of the season, then we would be questioning things, but as I say, we are only a few games in now.

"There are plenty of games and plenty of points to play for. If we don't take the positives out of the games, creating chances like we have done. On different days, we would have more points on the board.

"Again, today, we got done by a little small details. It is one of those where you get done by a set-piece."

On what he'd like fans to know, Young added: "Stay with us. Keep backing us like they are, like they do.

"Everton fans are fantastic week in, week out, whether we are at home or away. It is down to us as players on the pitch to go and keep them coming back and put points on the board."
