Zinedine Zidane has been linked with the Bayern Munich bench for next season, but a friend claims he would ‘prefer’ Juventus if they came calling.

The former Real Madrid coach has been out of the sport since leaving the Bernabeu in the summer of 2021.

He will always have great love for Juve, having played there from 1996 to 2001, when he was sold for then-record fee of circa €77.5m to Real Madrid.

According to German channel Sport 1, Zidane is one of the options being considered by Bayern Munich for next season, after it was announced that Thomas Tuchel will not remain beyond the end of this campaign.

However, the same source also assures that if Juventus were to make him an offer, then Zidane would certainly choose them above any other option.

He had been expected to wait for the France job, but Didier Deschamps – another former Juve player and coach – saw his contract extended after reaching the World Cup Final in 2022.

Meanwhile, former Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has emerged as another Sky Sports Deutschland candidate to be a caretaker manager at Bayern Munich until the end of the season if Tuchel is sacked.
