Piotr Zielinski is out of tomorrow’s exciting clash between Napoli and Roma after sustaining a thigh injury in training.

It kicks off at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on Sunday at 17.00 UK time (16.00 GMT).

This is a head-to-head for European ambitions between the teams currently in eighth and fifth position, separated by nine points.

Zielinski had been tipped to start in midfield, but did not take part in training today and tests showed a lesion to the left leg.

More in-depth examinations are required and over the next few days there will be a better idea of how long the Poland international is going to be out for.

It is reported to be a minimal lesion and therefore should only be a week or two, but more will be known next week.

Zielinski countdown

Zielinski is down to his final few appearances in the Napoli jersey, as his contract expires on June 30 and he has already agreed to join Inter as a free agent next season.
