Arsenal’s strong early-season form continues, and the records keep coming.

Mikel Arteta has had his hands full with a packed schedule, featuring tough opponents across several competitions. From the title chase in the Premier League to the challenges of European and domestic cup fixtures, Arsenal haven’t looked out of place in any setting so far.

The month ended with another bit of history for Arteta’s side, who have now set a new English top-flight record.

Despite setting a new milestone, Mikel Arteta is more concerned about consistency and improvement than any records. The manager knows there’s still work to be done if they’re going to stay near the top of the table.

Arsenal go through October without conceding a goal

With the season now a few months old, the action is starting to ramp up for Arsenal and their rivals.

October was full of tough fixtures for Arsenal, and the Gunners picked up wins against a lot of teams that have given them trouble in the past.

The club put those poor results behind them by winning every match across all competitions, regardless of how they managed to get it done.

What’s even more impressive is that Arsenal kept a clean sheet in every single game.

According to Opta, this is the first time in English top-flight history that a team has won six games in October while keeping clean sheets in every single match.

Some luck may have been involved during their 2-0 win over Brighton, but it still helped create history nonetheless.

It’s an achievement that neither Liverpool nor Manchester United managed during their prime years when chasing down titles and cups.

This highlights how much work has gone into strengthening Arsenal’s defence and giving them something solid to build on going forward.

Arteta talks about the depth of his Arsenal squad

Arsenal have a different look about them this season, and one of the reasons for that is how much deeper their squad is compared to previous years.

Even with some key players picking up knocks, they’ve managed to put out strong line-ups in every competition.

That’s something Mikel Arteta didn’t always have before, but he’s clearly enjoying having more options now.

After Arsenal beat Brighton, he said: “It’s going to make us stronger because, again, the easy thing maybe is to make some changes in that moment. I really believe in them.

“We could adjust a few things and be better, improve certain individuals with certain positions as well, that I think it was important, and after that now they have a good feeling that they can compete and beat a really good Premier League team. Overall we have a lot to learn.”

The season may still be young, but Arsenal are building momentum fast. There’s growing confidence within the club that this could finally be the year they end their wait for silverware.
