Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman has turned down Atletico Madrid, with Inter Milan “optimistic” about completing a deal.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
This week, bombshell reports emerged regarding Inter Milan’s interest in Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman.
The Nerazzurri have already agreed terms with the Nigerian. He is ready to sign a five-year deal worth €4 million net per season, while Inter benefit from the Growth Decree on his salary.
Moreover, the Corriere confirm, Lookman has made his preference crystal clear. He wants to join Inter Milan, and will reject other suitors.
Of course, Inter are not the only club with an interest in signing Ademola Lookman.
And this summer, it looks to be Spanish giants Atletico Madrid who are ready to really push for the 27-year-old’s signature.
However, Lookman has already set his mind to joining Inter this summer. Therefore, he is ready to reject the Colchoneros for the Nerazzurri.
Accordingly, reports the Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter feel a sense of optimism about a deal for Lookman.
Atalanta rejected the Nerazzurri’s opening bid yesterday.
But nevertheless, the player’s own desire could be desire. With Lookman pushing for Inter, Atalanta could feel that their hand is forced, even if they prefer a sale to a foreign club.
