According to transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano Celtic have now reached a verbal agreement for Canada’s impressive World Cup star, Alistair Johnston. The Celtic Star reported this morning that the world-renowned go-to-guy on player movement had indeed verified that of Manuel Veth, citing that the right-back was in talks with the Hoops.

The 24-year-old CF Montreal defender was one of the stand-out performers for his country against Belgium just the other night and that has prompted Ange Postecoglou to waste no time at all in placing an offer for the young Canadian. Things have been moving at quite a fast pace and he could become that second face the boss spoke about when being interviewed thus week.

Romano revealed that it is now down to the finer details of the prospective move to Celtic Park and that the talks are progressing as we speak this evening. The Italian was the one who first broke the news that Josip Juranovic was being watched closely by various teams and they would be looking to make a move either in January or this coming summer.

It is now starting to appear that he was right on the Juranovic front, as the player has reputedly knocked back an approach to extend his contract in Glasgow with the Bhoys. Ange will likely be signing Johnston as his successor with bids for the Croatian now highly expected to land on his desk at Lennoxtown come the January transfer window.

Here’s the update from Romano earlier…
