There was a very surprise and strange Player of the Match named last night in the Chelsea vs Tottenham game.

Spurs needed to win the game or at least draw it to ensure their Premier League safety for this season. But instead, Chelsea won 2-1 and now Spurs have to sweat into the final game of the season making sure they win the game to avoid relegation and swapping place in the relegation zone with another London club, West Ham United.

Robert Sanchez was name Player of the Match somehow, when we all know and saw that it should have been Enzo Fernandez with a fine display.

Sanchez conceded a goal, made some routine saves, was fine with the ball at his feet, but didn’t really have much else to do other than a couple of claims for crosses, one of which he almost fumbled late on. He wasn’t bad at all, but he was nowhere near as good as Fernandez was. Very odd to give him POTM.

Cech comparisons

Believe me, the only comparisons Robert Sanchez and Petr Cech have tight now is the head protection! Sanchez is wearing an almost identical helmet as Cech did back in the day, with the latter making it iconic.

Backup up goalkeeper Gaga Slonina posted the above picture on socials last night after Sanchez was named POTM!

As we know, Chelsea beat Tottenham 2-1 last night, and Enzo Fernandez slammed a great goal to put The Blues ahead, striking one from range into the back of the Spurs net.

Then it was midfielder Andrey Santos who bundled in the important second goal, with Fernandez grabbing the assist for it.
