Real Madrid had a brilliant season, winning both La Liga and the Champions League, and they are looking to build on that success.

That means not only signing players to improve the first team – we’ve seen Antonio Rudiger and Aurelien Tchouameni arrive already – it also means trimming the fat of a squad that is starting to look a little bloated.

Dani Ceballos looks like one of the most likely to go. He played a but off the bench, but always looked like a spare part, and Tchouameni is likely to hoover up all those minutes and more.

AS.com have an interesting summary of Ceballos’ future, pointing to the World Cup this winter and the former Betis man’s desire to earn a place in Qatar.

With a contract that expires next summer, he has all the cards, and if a decent offer comes in, it’s hard to see Madrid turning it down.
