Hull City officially confirm Manchester United midfielder to return

Manchester United are already preparing for several changes this summer following the confirmation that Casemiro will leave the club at the end of the season.

Michael Carrick recently confirmed that the Brazilian had played his final game for the club.

A number of young players are also expected to leave on temporary deals this summer.

United continue to plan for the future under Michael Carrick.

Now, Hull City have officially confirmed that a Manchester United midfielder will return to the club following the end of the campaign.

In their official match preview ahead of the Championship Play-Off Final against Middlesbrough, Hull City confirmed that Toby Collyer will miss the game to injury and has return to Manchester United because of club protocols.

Head Coach Sergej Jakirovic said: “Toby is at Manchester United due to protocols, his season is done.”

Collyer joined the side on loan for the remainder of the season during the January transfer window.

The midfielder impressed supporters with his energy, defensive work and composure in possession.

He made five appearances the Championship club.

However, the 22-year-old recently picked up an injury which ruled him out for the closing stages of the regular season.

That will now not happen.

Despite the setback, Toby Collyer is understood to have impressed Hull City officials during his short spell at the club.

Reports have claimed that Hull had already made contact over a possible move to bring him back for the 2026/27 season.

The midfielder previously featured in United’s first-team squad under multiple managers.

He was highly rated behind the scenes at Carrington before his loan switch.

Hull City now face Middlesbrough at Wembley.

They will be without the Manchester United loanee as they attempt to secure promotion to the Premier League.
