Tottenham Hotspur take on Arsenal in the Premier League on the 1st of October and Antonio Conte’s side could be without the services of Ben Davies because of an injury blow.

According to journalist Tom Barclay, the Tottenham left-back has sustained a hairline fracture in his leg.

The 29-year-old Tottenham defender sustained the injury during the Champions League clash against Sporting and he continued on to play with the knock instead of coming off.

While Barclay suggests that the injury might not be as severe as it sounds, one has to consider the possibility of the Welshman missing the derby game.

Barclay told GIVEMESPORT“Ben Davies has a knee injury which he picked up, I think, in the game against Sporting because he went down injured and they sort of suggested it was in that game but he played the rest of it.

“I’m led to believe there’s a hairline fracture on the bone underneath his knee, which sounds pretty bad, but I don’t think it’s actually as serious as it sounds by any stretch.”

In his absence, Tottenham have Ryan Sessegnon who can deputise as the left-sided wing-back.

The youngster has done reasonably well this season and he will be hoping to use these opportunities to establish himself as a key starter for Antonio Conte this season.

Although Davies is a more reliable option defensively, Sessegnon offers a lot more going forward.

Tottenham have made an impressive start to the Premier League season so far and they are third in the table with 17 points from seven league matches. They will be hoping to close a cap with league leaders Arsenal and a win over their rivals could give them a major confidence boost.
