Inter midfielder Kristjan Asllani is likely to start in his team’s Serie A match against Cremonese on Saturday, with Marcelo Brozovic set to miss the match through injury.

This according to todays’ print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that given that Brozovic is unlikely to return from injury for Saturday’s match which Nicolo Barella will also miss through suspension, Asllani will be trusted to play from the start.

Brozovic has missed out on all of Inter’s matches since the return from the winter break, as the 30-year-old has recovered from a calf problem which he picked up in training after the World Cup.

The intention has been for the Croat to return as soon as possible, but he is not yet ready to take to the pitch on Saturday based on the progress of his recovery.

Moreover, Barella will miss the clash away to Cremonese through suspension due to accumulation of yellow cards after he was booked against Empoli in Monday’s Serie A loss.

Asllani came on in the match against Empoli and impressed during the second half despite the poor performance by the team as a whole, and the Albanian is expected to start against Cremonese.
