Major League Soccer sets 'Decision Day' for Nov. 8

The 2020 Major League Soccer regular season that was halted in March after two matchdays because of the coronavirus pandemic and then restarted in July via the MLS is Back tournament will conclude with "Decision Day" on Nov. 8.

In an official statement, MLS explained that the second Sunday in November will hold seven Eastern Conference fixtures featuring all 14 conference clubs that begin at 3:30 p.m. ET. Six simultaneous Western Conference matches will then start at 6:30 p.m. ET that same day.

Flex scheduling will allow ABC and ESPN Deportes to air the Eastern Conference contest of the company's choosing. FS1 and Fox Deportes will select a Western Conference match shown on those cable outlets.

As had been expected, quarantine restrictions and the continued border closure will force Toronto FC, Montreal Impact and Vancouver Whitecaps to play all remaining home games in the United States.

Toronto will play at Rentschler Field in East Hartford, Conn. Montreal will call Red Bull Arena their temporary home. Vancouver will host road opponents at Portland's Providence Park.

Per the amended schedule, no club will play the same opponent more than four times during the regular season, including the MLS is Back competition.
