Marcus Rashford has well and truly found his form with Barcelona, however, his future with the La Liga giants is now in question.

Rashford’s Manchester United career seemingly came to an end last winter when the United academy graduate was sent out on loan to Aston Villa.

Unai Emery rejected the opportunity to sign him permanently for £40 million at the end of the season, which opened the door for his dream move.

Barcelona ultimately swept in, signing the newly recalled England international on a season-long loan, with the option to buy for £26 million.

Since then Rashford has show his return to form, grabbing six goals and nine assists in 18 games, including braces agaisnt Newcastle and Olympiacos.

However, despite the impressive displays, his permanent move could still be in question.

Spanish publication Sport has reported that Barca are still unsure on making Rashford’s loan move permanent.

The report explains that “the decision regarding Rashford’s future has not yet been made.”

Speaking on Sport’s Moeve Fútbol Zone, Alfredo Martinez explained: “There are voices for and against [his staying].”

He continued: “Some don’t want him to stay because Rashford isn’t the type of player who presses high, and besides, he has a very high salary.”

Alongside this insight, Barcelona have also been looking to the market for alternatives for Marcus Rashford, targeting RB Leipzig’s Antonio Nusa, Said El Mala of Koln and Lyon’s Malick Fofana.

As such, Rashford still has half of the season left to show why he’s worth making permanent, with the England international currently leading the other targets on goal contributions.
