Mason Greenwood has just ended his most successful senior season yet with Marseille having scored 26 goals and having provided eleven assists.

The former Manchester United player, who joined Marseille in 2024, was recently named in the Ligue 1 Team of the Year further underpinning his success.

Under the fabric of success, however, tensions have continued to rise with Greenwood frequently not attending French lessons and arguing that everyone in the dressing room speaks English.

The 24-year-old also fell out with manager Habib Beye, creating further tension as the season concluded.

With this in mind, Mason Greenwood has been linked with a number of potential clubs that he could join in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Paris FC is one of these and the French outfit were preparing a bid for Greenwood in the late stages of April. Since then, AS Roma have also been linked with a move.

Now, according to a report from journalist Levent Umit Erol, Fenerbahce presidential candidate Hakan Safi is ready to announce the signing of Mason Greenwood.

It remains to be seen whether this report will transpire into the Englishman actually joining the Turkish outfit although, if it does, it may be the thing that Safi uses to demonstrate his intentions for the club.

Fenerbahce scored 77 goals last season in their push to finish second in the Super Lig although signing Greenwood could be seen as the step needed to secure the club’s first title in over a decade after five consecutive second place finishes.

Manchester United are likely to benefit from this move, too, due to the financial clauses that are embedded in the player’s contract although it is not clear how big this financial benefit is.

Focus may now subsequently switch towards the club to see if this report turns out to be true. If it does, it will be the 24-year-old’s fourth different club this decade.
