Newcastle United are still hoping for a breakthrough in their pursuit of Anthony Gordon from Everton.
The winger has not been a part of training over the past couple of days, since the sacking of coach Frank Lampard.
The attacker, who was linked to Chelsea in the summer, is a major target for Newcastle boss Eddie Howe.
Per Chronicle Live, Newcastle hope they can agree a fee with Everton in the coming days.
However, they do not want to pay over the odds for the player either.
What is helping the situation is Gordon forcing Everton's hand by not turning up to training, as that may push them to sell while his value is high.
