
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is one of many Manchester United legends who has made the step into football management following a retirement from playing.
Solskjaer, who made 235 appearances for the Red Devils in his time at the club, had managed United between 2018 and 2021.
In this time, the Norwegian took Manchester United to the UEFA Champions League quarter finals and also reach the UEFA Europa League final.
But, in 2021, following a period that saw United won just once in seven games, the manager was sacked.
Following his time at Old Trafford, Old Gunnar Solskjaer went onto manage Besiktas but was sacked from the role in August following a period of poor form.
After this sacking, Solskjaer went onto announce a sudden career change as he looked to take up the role of Director of Football in the future.
Now, the Norwegian has announced a new managerial aim as he looks towards then future.
Speaking to the BBC in an interview on their website, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has announced that he wants to become the next Norway manager.
In the interview, with BBC interviewer Kelly Somers, Solskjaer stated: “Next Norway manager.
“My friend Stale [Solbakken] is there now. We’re playing really well, we’re going to the World Cup.
“I do really, really like managing.
“It is a great, great job being the manager of ambitious young men who want to achieve something together” in response to a question about potentially taking the helm at Norway in the future.
Norway recently qualified for the FIFA World Cup finals in North America next year with Erling Haaland starring with seven goal involvements in one game during qualifying.
But, with Solskjaer now interested in the role of manager, attention could turn to see what the United legend does next.
