Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti finally made his long-awaited return to training.

Verratti, who missed PSG’s last three official fixtures due to a quad injury, received the green light to take part in manager Christophe Galtier’s scheduled training session on Wednesday.

Verratti had been sidelined as of late due to a quad injury that he suffered during training on Jan. 10, which was a day before PSG’s Ligue 1 home fixture against Angers. The Italian international went on to be ruled out from the contest due to his ailment.

With Verratti now back in training, the attention turns to PSG’s upcoming home fixture against Stade de Reims and whether the veteran midfielder will be allowed to play in the league matchup. In the big picture, Verratti may need to feature in multiple matches in the coming weeks in order to dust off any rust ahead of PSG’s UEFA Champions League round of 16 first leg clash against Bayern Munich on Feb. 14

Overall, Verratti has played in 16 total Ligue 1 contests so far this season.
