Atalanta will take midfielder Ederson off the mark if they sell forward Ademola Lookman to Inter Milan this summer.

Today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that La Dea don’t want to sell two of their top players in a single transfer window.

Reports in the last couple days have indicated that Inter Milan are advancing to try and sign Ademola Lookman from Atalanta.

Reportedly, the Nerazzurri already have an agreement with the Nigerian international on personal terms.

And yesterday, Inter made their first offer to Atalanta for Lookman. Therefore, they got the ball rolling as far as negotiating a deal for the 27-year-old..

Atalanta To Clamp Down On Ederson If Lookman Sold To Inter

A big sale of Lookman always looked like a distinct possibility for Atalanta this summer.

And if the Nigerian is to indeed go for a big fee, then that will have repercussions for Atalanta’s transfer strategy as a whole.

Atalanta don’t want to dismantle their squad too much. Particularly in a summer of upheaval which has seen Gian Piero Gasperini depart as coach and Ivan Juric replace him.

Therefore, Atalanta will not sell another big name after Lookman.

Namely, midfielder Ederson is a player who has no shortage of transfer interest.

The Brazilian has come onto the radar of several top clubs in the Premier League. Meanwhile, Juventus are also reportedly keen.

And most notably, Inter reportedly made Ederson their priority target to replace Hakan Calhanoglu in the event that the Turk were to be sold to Galatasaray.

If Lookman goes this summer, though, then Atalanta will clamp down and refuse to sell Ederson.
