Inter Milan are working to bring back former youth team striker Fabio Abiuso for their Under-23 team next season.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews.

Inter Milan are getting ready to set up their Under-23 team for the upcoming season.

This will be the first season in which the Nerazzurri have a team at that age level.

In this sense, Inter will be following in the footsteps of Juventus and AC Milan, with their Juventus Next Gene and Milan Futuro teams respectively.

Inter To Bring Back Fabio Abiuso From Modena For U23 Team

Naturally, Inter Milan will be aiming to bolster the squad of the new Under-23 team for next season.

In the striker position, Sky Sport Italia report that the Nerazzurri have identified a familiar face.

Striker Fabio Abiuso had a couple of spells on loan as part of Inter’s youth academy. He played for them at Under-18 and Under-19 or Primavera level.

However, Inter never signed Abiuso on a permanent basis.

Nevertheless, Abiuso never fell off of Inter’s radar altogether. And now, the Under-23 team gives them an opportunity to bring the 22-year-old back as part of a different project.
