Report: Tottenham duo could head out of the club as a part of major summer overhaul

Tottenham Hotspur are looking to reshuffle their squad during the summer transfer window, and they could look to get rid of some of their players.

According to Football Insider, Sergio Reguilon and Ben Davies could be shown the door in the summer. The report claims that Tottenham are yet to open contract talks with the two players, and they are nearing the end of their deals at the club.

Reguilon has barely played for Tottenham this season, and it makes no sense for the club to hold onto him. He should move on and join a club where he will get regular opportunities. On the other hand, Davies is in the twilight stages of his career, and Tottenham need to bring a younger alternative and start planning for the future.

It will be interesting to see if they can add the necessary depth to their defensive unit during the summer transfer window. Ideally, they should look to invest in another central defender this summer. They have looked quite vulnerable at the back this season, and they will need to tighten up defensively if they want to do well next year.

It has been a disappointing season for Tottenham, and they have crashed to 20 league defeats this season. For a club of their stature, it is simply unacceptable. It remains to be seen whether they can finish the season strongly. They are still in the final of the UEFA Europa League, and they could secure Champions League qualification if they win the tournament.

It would be a massive boost for them if they win the competition. It would not only help them secure the revenue from the Champions League, but it would also allow them to attract top-quality players in the summer.
