Summer 2024 saw Scott McTominay leave Old Trafford for good, as the Scotland international began the next steps of his career with Napoli.

The Serie A side secured his move for £25.7 million (€30.5 million), which now looks like a bargain considering how well he’s gone on to perform.

Last season, not only did Napoli win the league, but McTominay was awarded Serie A MVP for his contributions to the 2024/25 campaign.

With 13 goals and six assists in 36 games last season, McTominay is already continuing his fine run of form this year with five goals and two assists in 17 games.

However, the former Manchester United midfielder has now been awarded Serie A Player of the Year as well.

Scott McTominay received his award as well as being included in the Serie A top XI, as the Grand Gala of Football 2025 Awards.

During his acceptance speech, as reported by The Sun, McTominay commented: “It’s sensational, it’s incredible to be here and win this award.”

He continued: “Thank you to everyone, the team, the staff, and my teammates. My bond with Napoli is special, there are so many special places here.

“Coming to Napoli was an easy choice, I came to the right place.”
