Scottish Premiership club Kilmarnock told to isolate due to coronavirus outbreak

Scottish Premiership club Kilmarnock announced that their Friday match against Motherwell has been postponed because of a coronavirus outbreak.

At least six Kilmarnock players have tested positive for the virus this week as of Friday afternoon. All first-team footballers were told to self-isolate until Oct. 14.

No new date for the match was announced.

"The SPFL Board met this afternoon and agreed to our request to postpone the fixture and an investigation will now be carried out by the league around the circumstances leading to the postponement," Kilmarnock said in their prepared statement.

Kilmarnock begin the weekend fifth in the league table on 11 points in nine games played. They're scheduled to face Falkirk on Oct. 6 and Dunfermline Athletic on Oct. 13.
