Zlatan Ibrahimovic is currently recovering from a knee surgery he had on Friday, tired of the fruitless conservative therapy. The Swede is expected to be back in time for the Serie A opener, fortunately.

Today’s edition of Corriere Della Sera, as cited by MilanNews, explained the 39-year-old decision to opt for surgery. In addition to the lack of results from the conservative therapy, there was another reason behind the timing.

Doctor Musahl, who was in charge of the surgery in Roma, normally works in the United States but happened to be in Europe these days. Ibrahimovic, therefore, decided to interrupt his sailing holiday in Mallorca.

The striker wanted to make the most of the specialist while he was in Europe and the surgery was, as such, a no-brainer. Hopefully, the recovery will go as expected as Milan will obviously do a lot better with him back for the season opener.
