Three Salernitana Players Test Positive for COVID Hours Ahead of Match vs Lazio

Three more Salernitana players have tested positive for COVID ahead of tonight’s match against Lazio.

As announced in an official statement earlier today, another three players tested positive for the virus this morning following further tests, with the Campania squad now missing seven players in total due to the virus.

Salernitana already had to deal with a serious COVID outbreak in the squad before the Christmas break, which led to the postponement of two matches, and now their future games may be at further risk.

The identities of the positive players has not been revealed yet, and Lazio will be hoping that everything goes smoothly tonight.

The Biancocelesti have been fairly luckily in regards to COVID recently, with only Ciro Immobile and Jean-Daniel Akpa Akpro suffering from the contagion.

Tonight’s match will be going ahead as planned and Lazio are hoping to pick up all three points in Salerno, important as they look to stay in the race for a European spot.
