Tottenham Hotspur reportedly had a late bid worth £70 million rejected from Crystal Palace for the signing of Marc Guehi in the winter transfer window. While it would otherwise have come as a major blow following Radu Dragusin’s ACL tear, the club’s capture of Kevin Danso ensured that Palace’s turning down of their advances was not too costly for Spurs.
Marc Guehi will enter into the final 12 months of his Crystal Palace contract this summer and Tottenham are set to reignite their interest in the defender after seeing a £70M bid in January rejected.

They are expected to reignite their interest in Guehi in the summer and would need to pay a hefty sum for the central defender given that he was valued at £75 million last summer. While this time around, he will be in the final 12 months of his contract, Arsenal and Liverpool have declared interest in the English international, according to Football Insider, so a bidding war could ensue.
Arsenal’s interest in the player comes as a surprise as they would require a major investment in him and do not really require a central defender with Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba proving to be reliable pillars in Mikel Arteta’s backline. Therefore, it will be interesting if they show a willingness to land Guehi for as hefty a price as he is likely to command.
Liverpool, meanwhile, have to look into replacing Virgil van Dijk regardless of whether or not he renews his contract and Guehi has been looked at as a potential signing for the last several months. With Palace obliged to get rid of the defender to avoid losing him for free next year, the Reds are expected to circle over his services and might be prepared to break the bank.
Unfortunately, that could hint at Tottenham being on the losing end in a possible tussle for Guehi as their sporting project is nowhere as promising as Liverpool’s, while Daniel Levy will also look to low-ball his employers and the England star with Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven putting no foot wrong whenever they partner together at the back.
