Tottenham is targeting a move for Sheffield United’s goalkeeper, Aaron Ramsdale after their relegation from the Premier League, reports the Daily Mail.

Ramsdale joined the Blades last summer and they were relegated immediately, but he remains one of the Premier League’s best shot-stoppers and he is on the England standby list for Euro 2020.

United knows they will not keep all their stars as they play in the Championship next season, but they are keen to keep Ramsdale.

Hugo Lloris has just a year left on his current deal at Tottenham and the Lilywhites know he will not play for them forever.

The Frenchman would be 35 by December and they might decide not to hand him a new deal.

Ramsdale is just 23 and has shown exceptional ability despite playing for two teams who eventually got relegated – Bournemouth and Sheffield United.

He would probably deliver better returns if he joins a top club like Tottenham and can be trusted to be a long-term solution in that position.

Tottenham is currently searching for a new manager and their next appointee could have a say in what they do with their interest in Ramsdale.

While some of their stars represent their countries in international matches, they hope to complete a deal for a new manager very soon.
