Luciano Spalletti is set to be unveiled as the new head coach of Juventus on Thursday, but the former Italy CT is not expected to lead the Bianconeri in their training session immediately after his impending announcement according to the latest updates.

Spalletti is due to be announced as the new head coach of Juventus on an initial short-term contract until the end of the 2025-26 season with an option or potentially an obligation to renew if the Bianconeri qualify for the Champions League.

He is called in as the replacement for Igor Tudor, who became the first Serie A coach to lose their job in 2025-26 at the beginning of this week. He lasted just eight league matches of the season, but had failed to win in any of his last eight games across all competitions, had lost all of his last three and had not scored in any of his last four.

Why Spalletti will not take Juventus training on Thursday

Spalletti’s announcement is imminent: He has recently concluded his visit to the Bianconeri training ground, and headed for the club’s headquarters to sign his contract at around midday GMT.

According to reports from TMW, Spalletti will not lead the Juventus training session on Thursday afternoon immediately after his impending announcement, though.

That is largely due to the fact that most of the Bianconeri squad will be in for a recovery session following Wednesday’s 3-1 victory over Udinese under caretaker head coach Massimo Brambilla.

The players will begin their recovery session at around 14.00 GMT, and will then turn their attention to Cremonese ahead of their match at 19.45 GMT on Saturday evening.
