Laurie Towner and Torren Martyn are two of Australia's most unique surfers.

Towner burst on the scene as a teenager when he packed a wild slab at Shipsterns Bluff in front of Andy Irons and Joel Parkinson.

A few years later, he was the first one in the water during the Code Red tow swell in Tahiti in 2011, cementing himself as one of surfing's hardest chargers.

Martyn, on the other hand, is known for his effortless style on "alternative" equipment. We put alternative in quotations, because what does that really mean?

Is surfing on a twin fin or asymm somehow considered lesser than riding a shortboard?

We think not. And neither does Martyn.

In the edit above, the pair pair up to get extremely tubed all around OZ, and provide color commentary on their lives and careers along the way.

Of course, it's only fitting that they also score Shipsterns, where Martyn chips in on a twin, taking brand new lines at one of surfing's most challenging venues.

Is it really an alternative choice for a surfboard? Because it sure looks like Martyn made the right choice to us.
