Alex de Minaur is once again in the hunt for his first Masters 1000 title, hoping to finally add that trophy to his career.

Following their recent encounter at the Vienna Open, Jannik Sinner praised De Minaur.

The Australian had battled through some tough matches to reach the semi-finals but fell short against an in-form Sinner.

Despite that loss, De Minaur has nearly secured his place at the ATP Finals and has also received a wildcard entry into December’s UTS Grand Final.

Even though he has not won many titles, the Australian consistently reaches the later rounds of tournaments, and there is something on his record that neither Carlos Alcaraz nor Sinner can claim.

Paris Masters, the final Masters 1000 tournament of the year, has seen De Minaur perform better than most this season.

After a three-set win over Gabriel Diallo, De Minaur joined an elite group. Only Novak Djokovic and Alexander Zverev have done what he just achieved.

He has reached the last 16 in eight of nine Masters 1000 events in a single year, which is something few players have managed.

That consistency is one of the qualities that stands out about his game. Even though he does not win as many titles as some others, his steady play in big events across the ATP Tour keeps him in the mix.

Alex de Minaur needs to turn strong runs into titles

At 26, De Minaur still has time to make his mark in Grand Slams and Masters 1000 events.

But the next step for him is turning those strong starts into titles and showing he can compete with the very best on a regular basis.

Sitting at world number six, matching his career high from earlier this year, he has shown he belongs among the elite.

This latest achievement stands out as well. Not even Sinner or Alcaraz have matched it, which gives De Minaur something unique to be proud of.

Now it is about building on that consistency and adding more trophies to his cabinet before returning home.
