Day 3 at the ATP 250 in in Buenos Aires sees an all-Argentinian match-up as well as three other matches that promise entertainment. Who will continue to the next round?

ATP Buenos Aires Day 3 Predictions

Tomas Martin Etcheverry vs Daniel Elahi Galan

Head–to–Head: Etcheverry 2 vs 1 Galan

Daniel Galan Elahi continued his resurgence this season after securing a comeback victory over the struggling David Schwartzman in the previous round to make it three wins on the trot but he remains unsuccessful in six attempts to beat a top #50 player and that is the class his opponent, Etcheverry belongs. The Argentine achieved a turning point in his career at this event last year and it is looking like more of the same for him after a dominant straight-sets win over Roberto Carballes Baena.

The Colombian will put up a fight but Etcheverry is the favorite to win this and rightly so.
Prediction: Etcheverry in 3

Dusan Lajovic vs Alejandro Tabilo

Head–to–Head: First Meeting

It’s the first meeting between two clay court specialists who put up superb performances in their excellent wins in the previous round and it is difficult to call this one. However, I’ll back the Chilean left-hander to edge what will be a closely contested match.
Prediction: Tabilo in 3

Francisco Cerundolo vs Facundo Diaz Acosta

Head–to–Head: Cerundolo 2 vs 1 Acosta

Francisco Cerundolo hasn’t started this season as he’d hoped to but this event is a good chance for him to get back on track as he’s performed considerably well in previous editions. He was a losing finalist three years ago and reached the quarterfinals in the last two meetings.

His compatriot has had a relatively better season but hasn’t gone past the second round here. Even more significantly, he has an 0–5 record against players in the Top 40, and considering he’s facing a more accomplished and determined opponent, I don’t expect the record to change this time
Prediction: Cerundolo in 3

Nicolas Jarry vs Stan Wawrinka

Head–to–Head: Jarry 0 – 1 Wawrinka

Stan Wawrinka rolled back the years with a scintillating comeback win over the struggling Pedro Cachin in the previous round and it will do his confidence a lot of good as he next faces the big serving Nicolas Jarry who also does not look like he’s in optimal condition. If Wawrinka can contain the Chilean’s serve, this match is winnable.
Prediction: Wawrinka in 3
