She won’t be short on confidence going into this one. However, Gauff should have enough in her to continue the quest for the title in front of her home fans.

They’ve traded their two head-to-head encounters, but I’ll back the American who has shown more grit and resilience this week.

This is the marquee matchup of the quarterfinals, and it promises to be nothing short of fireworks. Top seed and overwhelming favorite Iga Swiatek faces a veteran of the sport. Caroline Wozniacki has reminded everyone of her former No. 1 status with some scintillating tennis in the Californian desert. In this high-stakes match, the form books and pedigrees are out as this match promises to go down the wire. In their only previous encounter, the Pole edged out Wozniacki on the hard courts of Toronto four years ago.
Wozniacki possesses everything to pose a stern challenge, but it won’t be enough to upset an opponent who is, the most dominant player on the WTA tour. Swiatek will be breathing fire and will consummate the win quickly.
