Stefanos Tsitsipas had a fantastic week in Monte Carlo as he clinched his third title at the tournament on Sunday. Having won his first in 2021, he now has won three of the last four editions of the Masters-1000 event. Watching him in the finals was F1 sensation and Ferrari’s driver, Charles Leclerc .
Leclerc has been often spotted at tennis matches and made his way to this year’s men’s singles Monte Carlo finals as well. Following the trophy ceremony, Tsitsipas and Leclerc were both seen indulging in a conversation that eventually led to a joint agreement on racing together.
The Monegasque talked about his schedule for the coming weeks. The F1 races are scheduled in Shanghai, Miami, and then Monaco. Stef showed his interest in attending the Monaco Grand Prix but was skeptical given it is scheduled just the week before the 2024 French Open.
Leclerc then went on to ask about his interest in Go-Karting. Tsitsipas talked about trying it out before finding a mutual friend between them (Seb Delanney). The Ferrari driver was excited by it and talked about ‘organizing’ a joint go-karting session. The Greek then jokingly asked, “Do you think I can fit in a Go-Kart?” Leclerc had an instant reply to this.

Tsitsipas defeated Casper Ruud 6-1, 6-4 to win his maiden Masters event on clay this season. He dropped just one set throughout the week as in-form Jannik Sinner took him to the third set in the semi-final. But it wasn’t enough as the Greek star fought his way through.
Stefanos Tsitsipas jumps five places to re-enter Top-10
The Greek was defending big points at the 2024 Australian Open given his runner-up finish in 2023. But his fourth-round exit from the Happy Slam and eventual defeats saw him exit the Top-10.
Having been without a title since then, the former World No. 3 was unable to re-enter the Top-10. But with the title in Monte Carlo, he jumped five places. He adds 820 points to his tally and is now ranked 7th in the singles rankings.
As for Casper Ruud, his fellow finalist at Monte Carlo, he added 560 points and jumped four places to be now ranked World No. 6 in the singles rankings. The Top-5 remains unchanged. World No. 1 Novak Djokovic, however, has breached the 10,000 ranking point mark yet again and leads World No. 2 Sinner with 1285 points.
Tsitsipas will, however, have a big task this week in Barcelona. He finished a runner-up at the event for the third time in five appearances during the 2023 edition.
