Australian tennis stars Nick Kyrgios and Thanasi Kokkinakis could not stop themselves from laughing their heart out as they were tagged in a post showing a college tennis player ripping his shirt off midway through a match.

The clip garnered a lot of attention and Kokkinakis also shared his reaction as he said that it felt like the player had won an Olympic gold.

It all started when a page on X shared a clip from a college-level tennis match. The video showed how a player took off his shirt in celebration of a point won. He also thumped his chest and let out a loud roar while his teammates cheered.

A good ol fashion SEC dual match for the regular season title. Hope this makes it on the feeds of the pro tennis fans. You haven’t seen tennis at its peak unless if you’ve watched college tennis. Tennessee vs Kentucky The caption read.

Thanasi Kokkinakis assures Nick Kyrgios will come back

It has been over a year since Nick Kyrgios played a match on the ATP Tour. The Australian tennis star has not been able to recover and become match-fit ever since he underwent surgery on his wrists and knees. Kyrgios’ absence from the tour and his engagement in activities away from the court have led to concerns over a comeback.

Although Kyrgios has teased his fans time and again about a potential comeback, there remains a doubt. With the Australian not playing, the ‘Special K‘ duo of tennis has also been missing. Nevertheless, Thanasi Kokkinakis is certain that the duo will be back soon.

In an interview with ABC News, Kokkinakis had assured tennis fans that Kyrgios will come back and that his commentary stint is temporary. He also talked about the ‘Special K’ making a comeback.

I'm having dinner with him tonight, and he ain't retiring any time soon, so he's good. He's playing. He'll be right. He's commentating short-term but he'll be back playing pretty soon. Special K definitely has to come back. We haven't played since we won the doubles here in Australia, so we've definitely got to bring it back and we'd love your support. Thanasi Kokkinakis said to ABC News.

It is to be seen how long Kyrgios decides to return to action. The Australian star has been making good progress and has also declared that “there is still fire in his belly.
