The news about Aryna Sabalenka’s ex-boyfriend Konstantin Koltsov’s death stirred a huge storm in the tennis world. Although Sabalenka hasn’t been doing any press conferences, the reporters have found ways to get through to other players, and get their reactions from them.

On the 19th of March, the world received the news of Koltsov’s death, and soon more information was revealed. More recently, Coco Gauff, shared her opinion on this matter. The American revealed that she had dropped a text to Sabalenka, offering her condolences. Furthermore, Gauff strongly stated that people shouldn’t dig up on this anymore.

I don’t have any thoughts on it, I think I just offered her my condolences through a text message, and, um, you know, I don’t think people should dig into whether or why she is playing or whether she plays. It’s totally her process and I feel like we should just leave it that. Gauff said to the Miami Open press

Despite a major loss, Sabalenka has decided to continue playing at the Miami Open. She admitted to being heartbroken, but announced her participation in the tournament. The Miami Open Press had asked the same question to other players, starting from Caroline Wozniacki. All these players have now given Sabalenka her space during this time.
