Novak Djokovic looks set headline team Serbia at the Davis Cup this year after Filip Krajinovic claimed it was already agreed.

Djokovic has not played competitively since losing the US Open final last month.

That defeat saw him fall agonisingly short of completing a calendar Grand Slam, and he withdrawn from the ATP Tour since to recover and recharge his batteries with his family.

Djokovic is expected to play again this year, with the Paris Masters and ATP Finals likely to be in his sights.

However, it appears fans can add the Davis Cup to his list of tournaments too.

“I would like to use the next three tournaments to raise my game before the Davis Cup”, Krajinovic told Blic.

“We are going there with all the best players, so our goal is to lift the trophy, just like we did in 2010.

“Novak is with us, so we are surely not going there to lose. We made an agreement to play, all of us, we are eager to get that trophy.”

As well as having success at the Davis Cup with Serbia before, Djokovic also led his country to the ATP Cup title in Australian in 2020.
