Rafael Nadal becomes fifth to reach 300 wins in Grand Slam matches

Rafael Nadal won a second round match against Corentin Moutet in straight sets (6-3, 6-1, 6-4) at the French Open on Wednesday and hit a career milestone in the process.

Nadal, 35, is one of just five players and three men to reach 300 career victories in Grand Slam matches. The only four players ahead of him are Roger Federer (369), Serena Williams (365), Novak Djokovic (325) and Martina Navratilova (306).

More than a third of those victories for Nadal have come at the French Open where he is a 13-time tournament champion. On Monday, Nadal broke the record for career wins at a single Grand Slam event. He extended that mark with his 107th win at Roland-Garros on Wednesday.

Earlier this year, Nadal won a record-breaking 21st career Grand Slam by securing his second Australian Open title.

Nadal will next face Botic van de Zandschulp in a third round match Friday.
