Tennis great Roger Federer is world's highest-paid athlete

Tennis great Roger Federer has a lot of money ... and we mean a lot. 

The Switzerland native is the world's highest-paid athlete, according to Forbes, and has dethroned Juventus soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo atop the list.

Over the past year, Federer earned an estimated $106.3 million, which includes $6.3 million in prize money and $100 million from endorsements and appearance fees. Federer's endorsement deals include Barilla, Moet & Chandon and Rimowa, among others. Federer landing at No. 1 is up from his No. 5 ranking in 2019 and bests his second overall ranking from 2013.

In 2019, Federer, 38, won an ESPY as the best male tennis player, an award for best grand slam match of the year and most stylish man of the decade by GQ. Among his many accomplishments includes most men's Grand Slam singles titles (20), most weeks ranked No. 1 in singles (310) and most Wimbledon men's singles titles (eight).

Behind Federer on Forbes' list of highest-paid athletes is soccer stars Ronaldo ($105 million), Lionel Messi ($104 million) and Neymar ($95.5 million). NBA stars LeBron James ($88.2 million) and Stephen Curry ($74.4 million) checked in next and Tiger Woods ($62.3 million) rounded out the top 10.
