Three Wimbledon security guards arrested over alleged fight

When journalists and fans reference battles at Wimbledon, this type of thing probably isn't what they have in mind.

Per The Telegraph's Tom Morgan and Ben Morse of CNN, three security guards working the Wimbledon Championships were arrested this past Friday over an alleged fight that reportedly broke out among them after one individual accused a colleague of taking a three-hour lunch break.

"At 2 pm on Friday, July 1 officers on duty at the Wimbledon Tennis Championships were alerted to an altercation within the grounds," Scotland Yard explained in a statement shared by media outlets. "Officers attended. Three men aged 19 working at the event were arrested on suspicion of affray. There were no reports of any injuries. They were taken into custody and were later bailed until a date in late July."

The three men were working for Knights Group Security, a company that is supplying security personnel for the summer Grand Slam.

"To have a fight in front of fans is not a good look. It has damaged the company's reputation. I can't believe they did that," one Knights Group Security insider remarked.

Both The Telegraph and CNN reached out to Knights Group Security and Wimbledon for comment.
