Spanish tennis ace Carlos Alcaraz faced an outlandish situation as the 20-year-old had to see off a bee attack during his match at the 2024 Miami Open. This was the second such instance where Alcaraz’s match was stopped over a bee attack.
At the 2024 Indian Wells Open, during the Spaniard’s quarterfinal match against Alexander Zverev , a swarm of bees forced the match to be halted. Now, here in Miami, Alcaraz was troubled by not exactly a swarm of bees but a small group as he took on Lorenzo Musetti in the pre-quarterfinals.
The Spanish ace was seen trying to get away from the group while others could only laugh. The video clip showing Alcaraz desperately trying to get away was shared on social media.

Carlos Alcaraz was little affected by the bee attack
Just like he did at the Indian Wells Open, Carlos Alcaraz saw off the bee attack and then also saw off his opponent. While Alcaraz had a much bigger group of bees to deal with, as well as a much tougher opponent to beat at the Indian Wells, the Spaniard did not have to do much this time around.
The 20-year-old registered a win in straight sets over Italian Lorenzo Musetti. The two-time Grand Slam champion stamped his authority and won the match 6-3, 6-3 to advance to yet another quarterfinal.
Quite obviously, Alcaraz was elated at his performance. But more than the win, the Spaniard was excited about him feeling better than before on the court. Alcaraz claimed that he is back to his old self, where he is not thinking about injuries.
I don't know if this is the best game that I'm playing, but without a doubt it's the best feeling. I'm feeling great on the court. I'm moving great, not injured or thinking about the ankle [injury] anymore. I think [this is] the best feeling since last summer. Carlos Alcaraz said. (H/T: ATP Tour)
Alcaraz will next face Grigor Dimitrov, who has also been in impeccable form this season. The Bulgarian beat an upbeat Hubert Hurkacz 3-6, 6-3, 7-6(3) in the fourth round.
