An emotional Linda Noskova broke down into tears after recording the biggest win of her career. She beat Iga Swiatek in a thrilling third-round encounter of the 2024 Australian Open to see herself through to the fourth round.

All signs were in favor of the Pole who easily took the first set, but the Czech was not the one to lose as she climbed her way out of the rabbit hole to win the next set with her aggressive shots. With a proper counter to the iconic Swiatek backhand, the teenager left her opponent puzzled to win the match 3-6, 6-3, 6-4. This victory was rather emotional to the 19-year-old who shed tears of joy after her victory.

Serving for the match, the Czech had served a blinder, which was put out by Swiatek. This was the moment of realization for the youngster who just recorded her career-best win. Breaking down in tears after the match proved just how important this win was for her. Having never reached the fourth stage of a Grand Slam, Noskova ticks off another achievement and only hopes to achieve more with time.

Iga Swiatek fails to stand out as she faces a huge defeat at the hands of Linda Noskova

World No.1 Iga Swiatek, known for cruising through the opening rounds of a Grand Slam, crashed out in the third round at the 2024 Australian Open.

Having never reached the finals at Melbourne, Swiatek lost her opportunity at a 5th Slam after facing a huge setback in the form of Linda Noskova. The teenager left Swiatek absolutely baffled after a great victory to remember for a long time. Recording her biggest win, the Czech continues her dream run at the tournament.

Admitting to enjoying this victory, the 19-year-old opened up about her mentality heading into the game. After knowing that she was going to play Swiatek, the youngster revealed to only think about the match and enter the court with a ‘nothing to lose’ attitude. This attitude saw her through the match as she caused a major upset.

Noskova awaits her next opponent as the next set of third matches are yet to take place. The youngster also took revenge for her loss last year at the Poland Open. With a confidence surge, the youngster moves on to record her best Grand Slam run.
